Lil' Mo

Lil' Mo is a small assemblage art piece that I've made. I had the small porcelain head and legs. Mo's glass eyes are not vintage - I actually had them made by a glass blower in Japan. I added I sprig of synthetic purple wig hair to poke out from under his had which I had felted in shades of green and blue. I then hand sewed vintage rhinestone buttons and beads to his hat to make it extra fancy.
Mo's body is a small vintage Asian tea tin that I painted over with acrylics to bring out the original design. I used watercolor and micro-beads around his eyes and lips. AND I made Lil' Mo's arms out of sea urchin spines that I painted on. Also old barn wire and epoxy and resins. I dig this little guy.
Enjoy - Paul

@paulmoschell haha. The jeans analogy describes my life. Great sculpture :)

@lwang ... For assemblage works I use anything from thrift stores to eBay to various auction sites around the globe. Many of the porcelain doll components come from Germany. As do lots of vintage glass eyes. So various parts on one particular piece might be imported by myself from Japan or simply found at a garage sale near my house. It's kinda like wearing a pair of $300 jeans with a 99 cent Tee-shirt. čśâ
