In July of 1996, I went to Talladega to cover the Diehard 500 for my TV station in Pensacola, Florida. My photographer's brother was an executive with Kellogg's and gave us unlimited access to their driver Terry Labonte for three straight days.
We hung out with him all weekend long eating more Pop Tarts and NutriGrain Bars (from Kellogg's) than we could ever imagine. After the race, he signed this card for me and thanked us for being great company.
After four decades and 890 races, Terry retired in 2014 and was voted into the 2016 class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. By the way, the last picture is my racing credential from that weekend.
