The Univex Mercury II was launched in 1945. It was cast from an aluminum/magnesium alloy which did not retain its luster, thus giving most Mercury II cameras a well-worn look. It uses 35mm film and is a half-frame camera, meaning that it takes twice the number of pictures of a standard 35mm by using only half the space of a normal negative on the film. Landscape and portrait orientation is exactly the opposite of a traditional camera.
