Obtained this autograph in person in Pasco Washington at a Tri Cities Posse Western League Independent League Baseball game where Derrington was the pitching coach for the Posse. Derrington played two seasons for the white sox in 1956 and 1957 making his major league debut at the age of 16 after being signed as a "bonus baby" and kept on the major league roster. He made his MLB debut on the last day of the 1956 season at the age of 16 years 10 months old against the KC Athletics and lasted 6 innings surrendering 9 hits and 5 earned runs. In 1957 he played games. He remains the youngest pitcher to start a Major League Baseball game. He also holds the distinction of being the youngest major leaguer to hit safely.
