This is a Great Wall piece that I had a great time working on. I started with a very old rustic wooden bathroom/kitchen wall cabinet.
I did a lot of painting and sanding in it and then hammered in old silk flower pieces. I then covered the box in a variety of adornments. Vintage Bingo cards and game pieces, small metal parts, old keys, old stamps, vintage Cracker Jack charms etc.
Mays's head us vintage composition and beautifully cracked. I chopped off all of her hair and added some pink acrylic highlights. I made her a headband and some antennas from wire. Also a hand fashioned wire necklace with celluloid charms and beads. Pink craft leaves fill in for wings. Decals for her name and tiny metal titties. May's body was this odd ceramic flute sort of instrument that I found at a second hand store. I taped it off a striped it with acrylics.
Lots of great little hidden details on this number. Hope you enjoy.
