On January 18, 1995, the Star Wars: Episode I Art Department was formed and assigned the daunting tasks of translating George Lucas's vision. This painting is one of the twenty reproduction paintings by artist Doug Chiang May 1999. Doug Chiang's paintings represent the end results of approved concepts and designs that were brought to life in Episode I, The Fantom Menace. These prints served as valuable communication pieces to convey George's vision. In creating these paintings, Doug was aspired to live up to all the previous Star Wars artists and designers-particularly Ralph McQuarrie and Joe Johnston. Theses artist are what inspired him to draw and paint. These pictures are truly a memorable moment of the Star Wars adventure.
