"Clue 2016 Version" ~
I've been fascinated with the board game Clue since I was a child. I reference Clue often in my work. In this series (which is available as a complete collection) I have put my own personal spin on each character from the original board game. These miniature portraits are great when framed in a shadow box style whether individually or in one large framed presentation with matting windows cut out for each piece.
Each individual matchbox painting is 3 inches tall and 1.5 inches wide and one inch deep. These portraits are painted onto Arches hot press paper with tiny brushes (and sometimes porcupine quills) and high pigment watercolors and then adhered with matte medium to chunky vintage Russian matchboxes. This is a one of a kind set that I am very pleased with. To top off the theme, I color coded the matches using paints and pigments and then added the original weapons from the 1970's version of the board game.
Who done it? Scarlet? Green? Peacock? Mustard? Plum? White? The possibilities are endless. ALSO AVAILABLE IN MY ETSY SHOP! Under Paul Moschell
